If you're not happy with shaving, tweezing, or waxing to remove unwanted hair, IPL hair reduction may be an option worth considering.
Benefits of IPL Hair Reduction
No more razor burn, waxing, or tweezing. No more ingrown hairs. Smooth and hair-free skin all the time. Precisely target sensitive, delicate areas with ease. Speed of treatment means less time to treat the hair in unwanted places.

How Does It Work?
The highly concentrated light is beamed into hair follicles. The pigment in the follicles absorbs the light, destroying the hair. Each pulse of the laser takes a fraction of a second and can treat many hairs at the same time.

How to Prepare for IPL Hair Reduction?
If you are planning on undergoing laser IPL Hair Reduction, you should limit plucking, waxing, and electrolysis for six weeks before treatment. That's because the laser targets the hairs' roots, which are temporarily removed by waxing or plucking. You should also avoid sun exposure for six weeks before and after treatment. Sun exposure makes laser hair removal less effective and makes complications after treatment more likely.

IPL = Intense Pulsed Light treatment, also referred to as “Photofacial”
An IPL photofacial treatment uses the power of broadband light to improve the appearance of brown spots/dark spots, sun spots from sun exposure, rosacea, age spots, and skin texture. The treatment can also be used for hair removal, photo rejuvenation, as well as to alleviate dermatologic diseases like acne. It is a popular treatment because it's effective, affordable, and non-invasive. Not all skin types may be a candidate for IPL, so you should consult with medical provider on risks to darker skin types.
IPL is usually a series of treatments (3-6) depending on needs of patient.
Preparing and supporting early skin conditioning before your procedure can help you to achieve the most optimal skin priming prior to a cosmetic procedure. Many practitioners recommend discontinuing retinol/retinoid use for several days prior procedure and several days to weeks after procedure. Using the proper skincare 7–14 days prior to a cosmetic procedure creates healthier skin that supports the renewal of skin damage post-procedure.
Vascular IPL Treatment
The most common factors that contribute to the development of spider veins are heredity, weight gain, pregnancy and other events that may alter a person’s hormone balance, or activities, hobbies and professions that require you to stand or sit for a long period of time.
IPL can be used to treat small vein disorders.
The heat from the IPL will ultimately cause the veins to dissolve or collapse, and your body will absorb the collapsed vessel. With each laser treatment, there is an additional closing of the blood vessels.
You might experience a little redness in the treated area, this normally disappears after a few hours. It is recommended to wear a sunscreen for the next 24 hours, avoid strenuous exercise and swimming.
Typically 3 to 5 treatments are needed for optimum results, though small lesions may clear in just a single session. Repeat treatments are spaced every 4 to 6 weeks.
